From “The Bubble” to “Deep Water”: the 10 worst movies of 2022

Choosing the worst films of the year is always a mission as complicated as, in a certain sense, unfair. After all, even these ten films that make up the special you are reading will have (small) advocacy groups that will certainly have appreciated each of them, which, of course, has a value that must be emphasized.

1 ‘365 days: that day’/’365 days more’
From “The Bubble” to “Deep Water”: the 10 worst movies of 2022

Well yes, it could go below ‘365 days’. And not once, but twice: ‘365 Days That Day’ and ‘365 Days to Come’ almost made the horrible movie released two years ago and directed by Barbara Bialowas and Tomasz Mandes, the same people responsible for these two indescribable sequels. Pure cinematic horror, really there is not a single scene that can be saved in this double-format nightmarethe experience of seeing these two cinematic attempts was, without a doubt, the lowest point that the seventh art has reached in this 2022.

2 “Wan Moon”

Oh my God, Roland Emmerich. Even for those of us who lay claim to much of his career, with ‘The Patriot’, ‘The Day After Tomorrow’ and ‘Independence Day’ at the forefront, ‘Moonfall’ is an indefensible mess. Fun? No, no, a disaster to dry. Impossible dialogues, a headless plot, an epic very close to parody and a very lost cast. It improves slightly in its last section, but it costs real horrors to get there. Bad bad bad.

3 “Eyes of Fire”

From yawn to yawn and fire because it’s my turn. Tremendous numbness caused by this new film adaptation of “Eyes of Fire”, a novel which, by the way, is not exactly among the highlights of Stephen King’s extensive work. Directed without any inspiration by Keith Thomas, something surprising considering the skill he had previously displayed in the remarkable “The Vigil”, we are before one of the flattest and most frustrating films of 2022. I’m afraid there is nothing to save here.

4 ‘Marry me’
'Marry me'

Only Jennifer Lopez seems to have more or less fun in ‘Marry Me’, awful romantic comedy which, in addition to being predictable from the first to the last minute, never achieves anything so essential as that you care the least about what happens to its protagonists. To top it all off, the chemistry between the actress and her imaginary love partner, a bewildered Owen Wilson, is totally nil, thus mortally wounding a truly forgettable film.

5 ‘Deep Water’
'Deep Water'

Let’s start with the good: Ana de Armas is very good in ‘Aguas profundas’. Beyond her? Absolute nothingness, the embarrassment of others, the constant boredom, the disbelief of witnessing such a resounding failure in every sense. Sure, the last 20 minutes of this authentic circus are truly unforgettable. For its cinematic greatness? No, no, for embracing the absurd so passionately and crossing all the bounds of the ridiculous. Seeing is believing.

6 “The bubble”

Do you see Fred Armisen’s face in the photo accompanying this text? Well, it looks a lot like what the vast majority of audiences had during the seven hours that ‘The Bubble’ seems to last. In addition to Judd Apatow’s worst film to date, with a vast difference from the rest of the competitors, we are first one of the most irritating, boring and failed comedies of recent years. Of course, it has an indisputable merit: none of his jokes work. Not one, nothing, zero.

7 ‘The Game of Keys’
'The Game of Keys'

Except for Miren Ibarguren, an actress located in the field of infallible, there is nothing good to say about “El juego de las llaves”, a more than failed comedy written by Marta Buchaca and directed by Vicente Villanueva. Not even its interesting starting point is enough to get us hooked a story told without any kind of grace or energy and run on autopilot that falls through scene after scene until it reaches a horrific denouementterrible icing on the cake for a proposal without any spark.

8 ‘interceptor’
'interceptor'

Of course, if nobody, absolutely nobody, has worked a bit on this absolute horror called ‘Interceptor’, we won’t be racking our brains to comment on it. One of the worst movies of the year. And of the decade.

9 “Black Adam”

What a mess ‘Black Adam’ is. And what a disappointment. There is no script, the characters, including a terrible Dwayne Johnson are lifeless dolls going from place to place hitting each other and blowing up buildingsthe villain is embarrassing to others and the montage, to call it something, is saved nowhere. One of the worst DC movies. And those are big words.

10 ‘disenchanted’
'disenchanted'

So much waiting for this little big disaster? Those of us who have been dreaming of a sequel to the wonderful ‘Enchanted: Giselle’s Story’ from the moment we finished viewing that jewel have given us a good reality check with this awful ‘Disenchanted’. Two endless hours for a sequel in which all the charm, grace and magic of its predecessor completely disappear. One of the strongest disappointments of the cinema of 2022.

Still, when you factor in the response from both critics and the box office, it’s not too arguable that these ten offerings foundered sensationally, forcefully, and, ahem, rightly so. Some have not met expectations and others have simply certified the disaster that could be guessed from the first moment.

A film series that has brought more yawns to enjoy this 2022 film that is already perilously close to its outcome. Superheroes, (presumably) sexy thrillers, soporific horror, boring comedies and awful sequels. Shipwrecks of all types and conditions.
