In an interview for Variety, Paul Dano has given some details about his preparation for ‘Batman’, a role he has said in the past has had nightmares when delving into the psychology of The Riddler. Even the villain was more challenging than initially thought, since the actor couldn’t breathe inside the suit, and some of the other challenges the suit posed to portray him.
Batman villains are notorious for demanding and demanding of each of the actors who will bring them to life, like Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker and Heath Ledger, and more. Dana explains why he had to be separated from his family ‘Batman’: ‘If I have a book about trauma or serial killers, it can’t be next to my bed,’ she said. “A lot of energy goes into one day, right? A scene. You accumulate many things during your preparation time. And then you have to let go.” Similarly, the ‘Swiss Army Man’ actor also mentions that the same thing happened with his character in Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Prisoners’.

Paul Dano Prepping for ‘The Batman’
After the premiere of ‘The Batman’ on HBO Max, the film regained its popularity and in the last stretch of the year it reappeared in the list of the top films of 2022. Dano recalls what it was like to bring the villain of the storyline to life: “My character was like two sides of a trauma. That was the first conversation the director, Matt Reeves, and I had. Bruce Wayne is rich, but this boy, Edward Nashton, had nothing.”
“And I always thought the only positive feedback he ever got was when a teaser or brain teaser told him, ‘You win.’ This happened to me with The Riddler and also in a film called Prisoners, where I really have to start separating things,” concluded Paul Dano.
With several months on the market, ‘The Batman’ managed to garner over $770 million dollars at the worldwide box office, plus everything generated in its physical releases and on HBO Max. Now Matt Reeves is already working on the following spins -off of his universe and, of course, to the sequel with Robert Pattinson, which does not currently have a release date.
