Jamie Flatters & Bailey Bass (‘Avatar: The Sense of Water’): ‘The wait is definitely worth it’

Way back in the year 2017, ‘Avatar’ launched a promotional image of the youth cast to add to the long-awaited sequel to the 2009 hit directed by James Cameron. In it we saw for the first time the actors who would give birth to the new Na’vi generation of Pandora. Five years and after a long shoot that included 2 and 3 deliveries in a row, the first of them, “Avatar: The Sense of Water,” is finally here (opens Dec. 16). And, of course, those kids are all grown up.

The youth cast of “Avatar: The Sense of Water” is completed by a teenager over 70 years old. Sigourney Weaver plays Kiri, the adopted daughter of Jake and Neytiri brought to life by the actress through motion capture, and after an immersive job in her adolescence that led her to spend a lot of time with the new generation of Pandora to become one other. You’re already glued to the screen, but the light and beauty that Sigourney brought to Kiri seems to me one of the greatest achievements of any actor, to be able to play a 14-year-old girl in such a beautiful and real way. It’s believable”.
