Fans were blown away by the scene in Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness where we were introduced to some superheroes from an alternate universe, including Chiwetel Ejioforwho returned as an alternate universe Mordo, Monte Ansone as King Blackagar Boltagon, Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier, whom we knew from the X-Men universe, Haley Atwell as Captain Carter, e John Krasinsky as Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic.

Krasinski had been cast by fans in this role for years, so it was a bittersweet moment when his alternate universe version appeared, and then met his untimely on-screen demise! Since many alternate universe versions of superheroes exist in the same form on our earth, fans have wondered since that film if we would see Krasinski return to the role in the MCU’s future.

Krasinski was recently asked by The Wrap if he’s had any talks with Marvel since appearing in the role, and he said:

“There are no arguments, the only argument I’ve had was actually in the penultimate week of ‘Jack Ryan.’ Kevin Feige called and said would you ever go to LA and play in our sandbox for a day? I was honored to do so. I flew directly from Budapest when we finished and went straight to the set of ‘Doctor Strange’. I’m a huge fan of all those characters and that world, so to be able to play in that sandbox for a day was a real thrill.”

It’s a shame! But maybe he’s misleading us? It’s not like he could tell the truth, but he seems pretty firm about his answer. He went on to add:

“It’s totally insane. To be in a room with all those people, and to be a part of that narrative again, is crazy. But yeah, being turned into spaghetti wasn’t my ultimate goal in life as far as the Marvel universe is concerned, but you still know how much fun it was.

Wanda Vision director Matt Shakman is on board to direct Marvel’s Fantastic Four reboot and no word has been released regarding its cast. Marvel has given it a release date of February 14, 2025, so we still have a long way to go. And who knows, with that much time, maybe Marvel will be able to talk Krasinski down after all.
