Disney+ announces WITCH MOUNTAIN series and cast led by Bryce Dallas Howard

Disney+ has announced that it has ordered a pilot for a new supernatural series titled Witch Mountain, which is a reimagining of the hit film franchise. I enjoyed the previous films in the series based on 1968 Alexander key novel Escape to Witch Mountain.

The new series is described as “a modern reinvention of the cult classic that takes place in the shadow of ‘Witch Mountain,’ following two teenagers who develop strange abilities and discover their sleepy suburb may not be as idyllic as it seems.”

Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic world) will star in the show and play the lead role of Audrey, “Tia’s devoted and loving mother. Husband died of a mental illness and she tries to reassure a cranky Tia about her who shows no sign of following her father’s dark spiral. A hot mama bear type, but like everyone in this town, all is not as it seems.

Howard is joined on the series by Isabel Gravitt (The observer), Levi Miller (Simplify), Bianca “b” Norwood (We crashed), And Jackson Kelly (Straight man).

Isabel Gravitt plays Tia, “a straight student who is considered by her classmates to be ‘perfect,’ even though she sees herself as imperfect. She is terrified of her failure and is plagued by nightmares and fears that her late father’s schizophrenia is starting to manifest itself in her. Tia has “hallucinations” in which the people around her break out of their living bodies and voice their deepest, darkest fears, desires, and anger.

Levi Miller plays Ben, “a troubled teenager who makes ends meet by writing homework for other students, but has a short temper and if he hits another student he will be expelled. Ben is Corey’s best friend, his co-worker at the diner. He’s recently made a troubling discovery about himself, he can force others in his vicinity to move at his will, and there’s something inexplicably pulling him in Tia’s direction.

Bianca “b” Norwood plays Corey, “Ben’s closest friend, an outsider with tattoos, Corey is a very mature teenager who seems older than them. They are one step away from being expelled and more concerned with sounding like a My Chemical Romance song that has become an anime fan. Corey works at the local restaurant alongside Ben and is in her trusted circle, but she doesn’t appreciate it when she tries to act as their protector.

Jackson Kelly plays Peter, “Tia’s closest friend. Peter is lovesick for Tia, but she is unaware of his allure and equally unaware of her devotion. But when Tia expresses her concerns about the seemingly impossible happenings around them, she discovers that Peter’s observant and cautious nature could be an asset to understanding the mystery surrounding them.

Witch Mountain was developed by writers and executive producers Travis Fickett And Terry MatalasAnd Agostino Frizzell (Euphoria) will direct and executive produce the pilot.

Films in the franchise include Escape to Witch Mountain (1975), Return from the mountain of witches(1978), Beyond the mountain of witches (1982), Disney’s Escape to Witch Mountain (No (1995), and the most recent was in 2099 with Race to Witch Mountain.
