Michael Gandolfini (The Many Saints of Newark) is set to take on a major role in Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again series. It will join Charlie Cox And Vincent D’Onofriowho will reprise their roles of Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.
There are no details on Gandolfini’s character, but the report says it’s possible he’s “playing an ambitious boy from Staten Island called Liam.” Gandolfini recently played the younger version of Tony Soprano in The Many Saints of Newark, starring his father, the late James Gandolfini, in The Sopranos.
Cox previously spoke a little about what he’d like to see in the next film Reckless series and shared some things he would like to see that they weren’t able to do in the Netflix series. He specifically points out that he wants there to be more stunts.
“Hopefully, on the Disney Plus show, Born Again, we’ll be able to use – and I hope we do sparingly, I think it should be used sparingly – but hopefully we can use a little more CGI in the sequences of action, only to emphasize his gymnastic skills that have been practically impossible to do.
Cox went on to explain why we’d like to see him in the new series, saying, “These little moments would elevate the scenes and be something that would make the show even more relatable to the comics.”
The series was written and executive produced by Secret business creators Matthew Corman And Chris Ord. The 18 episode season of Daredevil: Born Again is expected to premiere in 2024.
