Top Gun: Maverick is back in theaters

The most successful film of the year Top Gun: Maverickreturns to select theaters on premium big screens and Imax for two weeks this Friday, December 2.

The news comes after Paramount+ set a release date for Tom Cruise’s highest-grossing film of all time ($716.6 million, $1.486 billion WW) in the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, the United Kingdom and Latin America began December. 22nd.

Top Gun: Maverick has an A+ CinemaScore, 97% critic rating and 99% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Not only is it Cruise’s biggest opening of all time, it’s also the biggest Memorial Day Weekend release of all time, Paramount Pictures’ highest grossing domestic release of all time; is the first film ever to top the box office for both Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend; and is the highest grossing film for Skydance, one of the film’s producers, followed by Mission Impossible: Fallout.

The film’s soundtrack also achieved the #1 album and soundtrack on iTunes, the #1 soundtrack on Amazon, and the #2 album on Spotify; breaks the top 50 of the charts with Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand” and One Republic’s “I Ain’t Worried”.

Top Gun: Maverick is produced by Paramount Pictures, Skydance and Jerry Bruckheimer Films. Directed by Joseph Kosinski from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger and Eric Warren Singer and Christopher McQuarrie, a story by Peter Craig and Justin Marks and based on characters created by Jim Cash & Jack Epps, Jr., the film also stars Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, and Ed Harris and Val Kilmer.
