The footage from which we saw John Wick: Chapter 4 he looks incredibly badass and fans are super excited for this next installment in the action franchise. These John Wick movies seem to get better and better and take things to a great hardcore level. It’s hard to imagine things getting any bigger than the franchise has already done, but it looks like that’s exactly what we’re going to get.
During an interview with Empire, director Chad Stahelski teases what we can expect from the next John Wick story by saying:
“If you took The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, crossed it with Zatoichi, and put a Greek myth on it, you’d probably get something like this. And who else the fuck says those kinds of lines? Now you know why I like doing John Wicks.
We all know she really loves it, though! Looks like we can get ready for a fantastic western samurai odyssey! He goes on to explain how this next chapter feels more epic than the first three:
“It gets a little scary after the third one. Because now we have a formula that works. But you have to throw caution to the wind and say, “Fuck it, we won’t do that again.” So now, at number four, we have more storylines. The movie looks different. Sounds more epic. I travel a lot. I’m in Paris reconnaissance, I see the Arc de Triomphe and I’m like, ‘Okay, I’ve got an idea.’ So I put it in the film. I have some cowboy friends in the stunt community, so I think, “That would be a good horse gag.” Two of the big sequences were last-minute inspirations that I’ve always wanted to try but didn’t know how.”
Keanu Reeves It’s back in action and it looks like things are going to be tougher than ever and I’m ready to take the ride!
The cast also includes Donnie Extravagant Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rina Sawayama, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, Clancy Brown, Ian McShane, And Bill Skarsgard as the sinister main villain.
The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on May 27, 2023.
