Marvel producer Nate Moore explains why ARMOR WARS is now being made into a movie instead of a TV series

Two months ago, it was announced that the Marvel project Armored wars which was previously pitched as a Disney+ series, is now being developed as a full-length feature film. According to the original report, the change was made because the studio was committed to “telling the story right and in that process they realized that one feature was a better fit for the project.”

Now we have a deeper insight into why the change was made. In a recent interview on The Town with Matteo Belloni podcast, producer Marvel Nate Moore (Captain America Civil War, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) opened up to talk about why Armored wars it’s the kind of project that needs to be a film rather than a series.

“When you talk about a show that wants to see all the cool suits of armor and Don Cheadle interacting with all these suits of armor and, in a way, the legacy of Tony Stark? It’s become cost-prohibitive to do as a show.”

Moore went on to say so Armored wars it will likely end up launching another multi-film story arc, like the recently concluded Infinity Saga. He also talked about how much easier it will be to bring moments from the comic series that the story is based on to life with less money restrictions.

“We realized that as a feature, not only can we get into some of the beautiful imagery that comes with publishing, and there’s definitely a rush of Armor Wars, but there are also ways to leverage ideas from that film and influence others movie down the line.”

Little is known about Marvel’s adaptation of Armored warsbut we know it will be a sequel to Secret invasion. Yassir Lester is writing the script, and Don Cheadle is reprising his MCU role of James Rhodes, with Walton Goggins returning to reprise his role of Sonny Burch from Ant-Man and the Wasp.
