There is a new Christmas horror thriller coming out titled Excuses, which is sure to bring fear and dread to this holiday season. The film comes from RLJE Films, Shudder and AMC+, and was written and directed by Alison Star Locke, who is making his directorial debut. We’ve got a trailer here for you to check out, and as you’ll see, it looks like this is going to be an intense film.
In Excuses“Twenty years after the disappearance of her daughter, recovering alcoholic Darlene Hagen (Anna Gunn) is preparing to host her family’s Christmas party with her best friend Gretchen (Janeane Garofalo). Late on Christmas Eve, Darlene’s ex-brother-in-law Jack (Linus Cockroach) arrives without warning, bringing nostalgic gifts and a heavy secret. Soon, Darlene finds herself caught between reason and ruthless instinct. Caught together by a dangerous storm, a battle of wits turns into a violent game of revenge.

The film will be released by RLJE Films December 16 in theaters and will stream on Shudder and AMC+ the same day.
