The history between Charlie Cox and Andrew Garfield is not new, it dates back to when they were roommates at the beginning of their careers. That’s why now the Daredevil actor dared to make fun of his old friend, calling him the “third best Spider-Man”, in front of his other two competitors, Tobey Maguire, the original actor, and Tom Holland from the MCU.

It was during the 25th GQ Men of the Year party held on Nov. 16 when Charlie Cox made fun of Andrew Garfield, when he started a toast, stating the actor is “one of, if not the greatest actor of our generation.” The Daredevil actor and the Spiderman actor have a very close relationship, since they lived with Robert Pattinson, Eddie Redmayne, Tom Sturridge and Jamie Dornan.

The actor of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ referred to Andrew Garfield as the “third greatest spider-man of all time”. Of course, all of Charlie Cox’s comments were in jest, and immediately following his speech, Garfield took the stage with a smile on his face, thanking his old roommate for his words.

For his part, Andrew Garfield thanked Charlie Cox, and admitted that he was “terrified to be standing here in front of a room of people I’ve admired for the past 20 years.” Though their past as friends led them to cross paths in the same film as ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’, their characters did not see each other which would have been an incredible moment for the fans and both actors.

Could Charlie Cox and Andrew Garfield cross paths in the MCU?

Now that Netflix’s Daredevil has become a part of the MCU and with Andrew Garfield returning as Spider-Man once again, Charlie Cox and Garfield may have a chance to see each other in future Marvel films. And it is that, although their characters belong to completely different universes, there is a slight possibility that they are possible.

This is ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, which was rumored to be the biggest MCU movie to date, with all superhero variants gathered in one moment, which could make Andrew Garfield and Charlie Cox face off in the MCUs like Spiderman and Daredevil, respectively.

Although, if possible, Andrew Garfield’s Spiderman wouldn’t be the first arachnid Charlie Cox would see as Daredevil, since he would have already met Tom Holland and his Peter Parker. Rumors even say that “Secret Wars” would once again bring all of Spider-Man together for one last screen time.
