Genndy Tartakovsky he’s a legend in the world of animation, he’s so damn good at what he does! The guy is a talented powerhouse who is a master of visual storytelling. Jack Samurai is one of his greatest hits. Fans loved this epic show, which ran for five seasons.
The first four seasons of the series aired on Cartoon Network, and then years later it finally managed to conclude its story with Adult Swim’s fifth season, which came in a much darker tone and was also more violent. I loved that last season!
Tartakovsky took the opportunity to share with fans a look at the original sketches he came up with for the series finale. These are just little storyboard thumbnails, but I love seeing this kind of thing! This was the first step in bringing him the vision of the end of Jack Samurai.
The illustration came with the following note from Tartakovsky, “Just found my original miniatures up to the end of Samurai Jack…”
It was such a beautiful yet tragic ending because as Jack defeats Aku, the victory is hollow as it meant losing the love of his life. Check out the sketches below and let us know what you think!
