Blumhouse, currently in a deal with Universal, is known for turning low-budget films into blockbuster blockbusters.. Her films have grossed more than five billion dollars at the worldwide box office. Among them, we can highlight some of the best known such as ‘Paranormal Activity’, the saga of ‘The Purge’ or the ‘Halloween’ trilogy. They are also responsible for ‘Let me out’, a film that shook up the genre in 2017 and presented a new way of making horror films.

For its part, Wan’s production company had a deal with Warner Bros. that ended earlier this year after nearly a decade. Films directed by the same owner have grossed more than $3.7 billion worldwide. It gave rise to some of the most famous franchises in the history of the genre, such as “The Warren File” or “Saw”. If we add the box office of both producers, the total collection would reach a whopping $11.6 billion.

What would the deal be like?

Should the negotiations come to fruition, it is anticipated that both producers will continue to act as independent labels., maintaining its creative autonomy and brand identity and creating its own productions. However, Atomic Moster would use Blumhouse’s infrastructure to further scale its content. The idea behind this agreement is that each production house increases its production, also expanding into the world of video games..

Due to the existing agreement between Blumhouse and Universal, should this merger take place, Atomic Monster would also connect directly with the distributor. Regardless of what happens, in 2023 we will be able to enjoy ‘M3GAN’, the first film in which both production companies have collaborated together.
