Horror film producers Jason Blum And James Wan are in talks to merge their Blumhouse and Atomic Monster production companies. These production companies have brought out one big horror movie after another and now they are trying to become the best horror movie factory!
It is explained that if the merger goes through, “Atomic Monster will benefit from the first-run deal with Universal Pictures that Blumhouse currently has under, having finalized its deal with Warner Bros. over the summer.”
The two companies will continue to operate as separate labels, and each will retain its creative autonomy and brand identity. But, at the same time, they will help strengthen each other and the alliance will increase their combined output.
Atomic Monster will use “Blumhouse’s existing infrastructure to scale its businesses across film, TV and new content areas including games, live experiences and audio.”
Together, the companies have collectively grossed over $11.6 billion worldwide since 2004, with their fantastical horror projects accounting for nearly $8.5 billion of that total. Not bad. This will make for a great collaboration!
