With James Gunn leading the charge at DC Studios, it only makes sense that we’ll see him The suicide squad the franchise continues. He loves those characters and has more stories that he would like to tell with them.
One of the funniest and craziest characters in that squad of dysfunctional superpowered characters is King Shark, and it looks like we haven’t seen the last of him! During a recent interview with CB, Sylvester Stallonewho voiced the character in the film confirmed that we would be returning for the role!
When asked if he would ever get back into character and work with Gunn again, Stallone said:
“Yeah sure. I think James was very generous… He and I are quite close. So if there’s an opportunity… I love him, it’s great.
Stallone didn’t give any more details, why would he? But it will be interesting to see what Gunn has planned for the future of the character and his story arc. As of right now though, Gunn has been keeping busy planning the next eight to ten years of DC projects for DC Studios with Peter Safran. Gunn said:
“The opportunity to make DC as big as possible and the way it should be – that’s why I’m doing this job because I know Peter and I can do it. We’ve spent the last couple of days with a group of some of the best thinkers in the business, the best writers in the business, starting to lay out that eight to 10-year plan of what it’s going to look like in theater, on TV, in animation, across the board for these characters.
Gunn previously teased that they’re trying to tell the greatest story ever told in multiple films, saying:
“But all of our initial focus is on the story moving forward, crafting the new DCU and telling the greatest story ever told across multiple films, television shows and animated projects. We invite all DC fandoms from across the multiverse – and all others in this new universe. We look forward to revealing more.”
CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery David Zaslav he also echoed those comments, saying that Gunn and Safran are concocting a “bible” of how a single universe would work in DC and that their strategy is to “get the hell out of DC.”
