Katy Perry discovered some of country music’s greatest talents as a judge American idol🇧🇷 Now he’s tackling one of the biggest stages of the genre alongside one of the biggest stars! The “Firework” singer arrived sporting a denim look at the Bridgestone Arena for the CMA Awards, before her performance of “Where We Started” with Thomas Rett. Katy wore an off-the-shoulder denim jumpsuit that featured baggy pants and a chic corset. The jumpsuit also had a large bow on the side which added a bit of Katy’s usual red carpet boldness! Her dark hair remained smooth and parted down the middle, while her jewelry sparkled, while she sported a diamond choker and drop earrings.

“I like to move!” Katy told ABC on the red carpet when she was asked if she would continue collaborating with country artists. “I like where the most authentic music is, it’s not about where the genre is, but whether the music resonates with me.”
She then performed her collaboration with Thomas Rhett while sporting a new denim dress and cowboy hat, who bowed to the crowd as she appeared on stage. Earlier in the day, Katy shared a short clip of the couple she rehearsed together. The country singer wore a pair of baggy jeans and a matching corset, while Thomas wore a brown suede shirt, brown pants and matching shoes, with his guitar slung over his shoulder.

Katy and Thomas released their music in the spring of 2022, and at the end of October they released a stunning music video for genre collaboration. The video features the two stars singing to each other between fluttering sheets, for a beautiful and simple visual aid to the song. “Working with Katy has been a very collaborative process,” Thomas said in a press release. “From recording the song in the studio to playing it american idol, for this video – your input made the whole experience really special for me. Katy added: “I loved being able to create a dream world for ‘Where We Started’, going back to the origins of the Nashville singer-songwriter where I started.”

In April, the father of four girls told ET how the collaboration began. “I didn’t participate in that. My record company called her and said, “Would you like to collaborate with Thomas Rhett?” and I thought they were crazy, “he said at the time.” I was like, ‘He has no idea who I am.’ He was sent to him and he loved the song.
He continued: “He loved the song and the next week he put the buckle on it and took it off and I thought, ‘This is what it should be. And since we shot a music video, we finally got to meet her in person. It’s as sweet as possible, and I think this song took this song from good to awesome. “
