YOU NEED TWO Nintendo Switch Review

It Takes Two was one of the most celebrated games of 2021. Between the strong comedy, the incredible co-op, the gameplay and the authentic story, it has rightfully won many awards. Now, this game is available on the Nintendo Switch, which includes various pros and cons.

It’s always nice to see great, smaller games coming to other platforms. Personally, I love to see that kind of success come to games that truly innovate and create unique experiences. One Switch is a great place for It Takes Two, a console that strongly encourages a lot of multiplayer games and more family-friendly vibes. As a brief summary, this game is a cooperative platform game that requires players to communicate, work together and solve various wall puzzles while navigating a very recognizable story of two people facing the complications of love. All parts of the game are here and players can enjoy it on their split screen televisions, handheld or online. While playing split screen on TV is definitely the best way to play it, the other ways work quite well.

The game runs pretty well. Overall, it doesn’t have the high-end details of a gaming PC, gaming monitor, and super stable frame rates, but it’s totally playable and can be a lot of fun on the Switch. Gamers will come across some faulty lights, awkward collision detection, and camera issues here and there. But none of these will detract from the overall experience, they’re just more frequent and prevalent here on the Switch.

If you haven’t had a chance to play this game, it’s a pretty easy recommendation, but you want to have someone to play with. Someone like your partner, a good friend or family member, or someone who can bask in the struggles, achievements and hilarity of co-op games. While the quality of the game isn’t at its peak on the Switch, it retains the fantastic core gameplay and demonstrates why It Takes Two did so well last year.
