Mark Ruffalo asks Elon Musk to leave Twitter after discussing the new verification system

Elon Musk turned the internet upside down. After buying Twitter and taking up his chair as CEO, the controversial tech entrepreneur has dedicated himself to firing a large portion of his staff and implementing new rules that social network users have not adapted well to. The most controversial the new verification system, through which anyone can get the precious blue check by paying a subscription of 8 dollars a month.

For the most part, this causes the tick to automatically lose its value, as now anyone can buy it. Famous American politician and activist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is one who has publicly shown her dislike of this new verification system, with a tweet on Friday, November 4, in which she stated: “What a laugh the billionaire who is seriously trying to sell people the idea that freedom of expression is actually an 8 dollar subscription.”. Musk responded to AOC in a concise and aggressive tone “I appreciate your opinion, now pay 8 dollars”after that, the policy accused him of blocking his account.

To all this, Mark Ruffalo entered into discussion by retweeting Ocasio-Cortez with a personal message to Musk: “Elon. Please, for God’s sake, quit Twitter, hand the keys over to someone who does this like a real job and focus on managing Tesla and SpaceX.”to which he added “You are destroying your credibility. You are not very well.” Musk, of course, did not remain silent and responded to the actor, who plays the genius scientist Bruce Banner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: “Hot Take: Not Everything AOC Says Is Right”.

Ruffalo responded once again, adding his point of view on the blue check debate and why he thinks it will be detrimental to the social network and the flow of information: “Maybe. That’s why having robust disinformation filters and trusted verified users has been a popular feature for both people and advertisers. We need these guarantees to make sure the information is correct, otherwise the app loses credibility and you with it.. And the people will leave. This is not the first time Musk has clashed with Ruffalo on Twitter, known for not cutting himself off with his opinions on Twitter and for using his networks for political activism on a daily basis.

“Partner” in the MCU

It is not a secret Elon Musk was one of the main inspirations for Robert Downey Jr. when he played Tony Stark, as the great billionaire, tech genius and playboy of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Downey Jr. made sure to record inspiration by suggesting to Kevin Feige that a Tesla could be seen in Stark’s garage. But that’s not all, Musk himself makes a cameo in “Iron Man 2” playing himself in a scene in which Stark, Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) and the director of Tesla and SpaceX coincide in the Grand Monaco Award.
