Ghostbusters: Beyond director Jason Reitman and writer Gil Kenan they worked hard to develop the sequel to the film, which is tentatively titled Fire station. Now, Erni Hudson, who plays Winston Zeddemore in the franchise, offered a small update. He joked that he read a version of the sequel’s script and is thrilled! In an interview with CB he shared:

“I’ve read one version. I’m pretty sure they’ve committed to doing another. I’m very happy with this one, but I also know this is in the beginning. Jason was amazing and I love and really appreciate him. I’m so grateful. to be able to work with him. So, I’m excited but … I don’t have and I never assume anything. “

“I’m happy, though, to have Ghostbusters in my filmography. And I’m really happy when I see little kids, ages two and three, singing the song and they’re happy with it.”

Hudson will actually have a decent-sized role to play in the sequel. Reitman previously shared: “The character of Winston Zeddemore and Zeddemore Industries figures strongly in the future of Ghostbusters.”

The film was previously described as “the next chapter in the history of the Spengler family”. It will officially return to New York City and is also expected to take place in the Firehouse headquarters which was featured in the first two ghost Buster movie.

McKenna Grace she also recently confirmed that she would be returning to reprise her character Phoebe and I assume that many of the other characters from the first film will also be returning. Ghostbusters: Beyond is currently slated to hit theaters on December 20, 2023.
