Approaching the 60th anniversary of the King of Kaiju, who made his first appearance on November 3, 1954, Toho is now developing a new film “Godzilla”. But not just a new story, but one of the most terrifying versions of the titan, due out at the end of next year 2023.
Through social networks Toho confirmed a new movie from Godzilla by 2023, this would be responsible for director Takahashi Yamazaki, the same who was responsible for tapes like “Stand by Me Doraemon 3” and “Lupine III: The First”. It is worth mentioning that this version of the giant lizard has nothing to do with the MonsterVerse that Legendary is developing right now on Apple TV and the sequel to “Godzilla vs Kong”.
The new project has been announced through social networks, which will be the first film in the Toho saga since then Shin Godzilla’, which was directed by Hideaki Anno, responsible for the anime’ Evangelion ‘. It is not known if this is a sequel, or what the relationship between the two episodes is, so there is still a long time before the first details of the plot are revealed.
It is worth mentioning that Shin Godzilla is the most terrifying of all versions of the monster, because, unlike what is seen in Hollywood movies, this King of Kaijus is evil, he does not care about human deaths, his powers exceed those of any other, plus his face has eyes and a face that could keep anyone awake at night.
When will the new “Godzilla” movie come out?
Details are few at the moment, but the new movie Godzilla opens November 3, 2023, so he still has exactly one year left to see this version of the mighty monster. And perhaps the first news will arrive in the coming months, both the protagonists and the rest of the creative team behind them.
While, on the other hand, the MonsterVerse continues to expand, because at the moment ‘Godzilla vs Kong 2’ is in development, from which it is not known whether Millie Bobby Brown or the rest of the cast will return. Additionally, Apple TV + develops a television series focusing on the Monarch company, which has been tasked with unleashing these giant monsters.
The next year, 2023, will be their 60th birthday, so Toho and Legendary may have big surprises around the most famous kaiju of all time. Now all that remains is to wait for news of these creatures to arrive.
