Vertical Entertainment is developing a biopic about Pretty Boy Floyd titled The good side of a bad man, and is just starting production in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The news comes with the cast announcement, which is great!
The film is the protagonist Emile Hirsch (In the wild), who plays the role of legendary bank robber Charles “Pretty Boy” Floyd; Thomas Jane (Punisher, The Misy) as FBI detective Melvin Purvis; Harvey Keitel (Hyenas) as Floyd’s father, Walter; Ashley Benson (spring breakers) as Floyd’s wife Ruby; Shawn Hatosy (The kingdom of animals) as Floyd’s older brother Bradley; Lera Abova (The peacock is coming Pitch perfect series) and Oliver Cooper (Eco boom).
The good side of a bad man will tell the true story of Floyd, “a poor Midwestern country boy who grew up to be one of the most notorious criminals of the Depression era. K. Asher Levin is directing and producing the film and previously worked with Hirsch and Jane on the film Dig. The screenplay is by Charlie Glass, who is also an executive producer.
