Andrea Lincoln protagonists of one of the episodes of Guillermo del ToroNetflix’s horror anthology series Cabinet of Curiosities. It’s called “The Murmuring” and it says it’s “the scariest hour” on television that Netflix has ever made.
The walking dead the star appears in the episode alongside Essie Davis, and was directed by The Babadook‘S Jennifer Kent. In the story, Lincoln plays Edgar Bradley, an ornithology professor who buries himself in his bird studio after the death of his daughter. As you can imagine, creepy things start happening.
Lincoln told Tudum, “I hope audiences get the same reaction I got when I read it, which was a good story about losing and coming to terms with grief. Hopefully a way to find a way to deal with the pain? But also, equally, that they get the most frightening, frightening and nerve-wracking hour Netflix has created. So far. “
I have to say this was one of my favorite episodes of Cabinet of Curiosities and it was damn scary. Lincoln went on to say, “I took it very, very seriously. When [horror is] done well, it’s beautiful. Don’t Look Now, The Shining, essentially talk about losses and all traumas or relationships in crisis. They will never recover from the death of a child, nobody does. But they can certainly try to live and continue to love each other. These are the general themes in this thing. This is a really exciting area for the actors to explore. “
He continued: “A lot of the fear is this kind of psychological pressure cooker. This is the piece I love, when you watch a movie and you realize you’ve been holding your breath for three minutes.” I think what we’ve shot it will work at that level as well as the emotional level of Nancy and Edgar’s trauma. “
If you haven’t looked Cabinet of Curiosities yet, this is a must-see series, I enjoyed the dark and twisted stories it tells!
The series is made up of eight gruesome horror stories, and these sinister stories are told by some of today’s most revered horror creators. Del Toro discusses the series in the promo and features some great footage of each of the stories and shows the practical makeup effects that were used to bring the creatures in these stories to life.
The stories inside Cabinet of Curiosities they are “designed to challenge our traditional notions of horror. From the macabre to the magical, from the gothic to the grotesque or the creepy classic, the eight sinister tales, including two original works by del Toro, will be brought to life by a team of writers and directors personally chosen by the Shape of water movie director”.
Del Toro said in a statement: “With Cabinet of Curiosities, we decided to show the realities existing outside our normal world: anomalies and curiosities. We have selected and curated a group of stories and storytellers to tell these stories, whether they come from outer space, from supernatural traditions or simply in our minds. Just in time for Halloween, each of these eight stories is a fantastic peek into the cabinet of delights that exists beneath the reality we live in. “
If you’ve watched the series, what do you think !?
