In one of his attempts to search for originality, the creative team has decided to explore the world of anime (Japanese animation) in one of its episodes and it does so, no more, no less, inspired by the story of ‘Death Note’, one of the most popular anime. The chapter is part of the “The Simpsons” Halloween specials known as The Tree House of Terror. The entire segment, both the characters and the settings, are animated in the characteristic Japanese style. The creative team of ‘The Simpsons’ didn’t want to be silly and animate the chapter like that They had DR Movie, a South Korean animation studio that has a long history of animating or supporting various American and Japanese projects. Some of these are ‘Animatrix’, ‘Justice League’ and, most important considering the situation, the Death Note anime itself. This episode will premiere on October 30 in the United States and is the second of the three specials of The Tree House of Terror. The other two will be a tribute to “Babadook”, featuring Marge, and a parody of the science fiction series “Westworld”. In 1994 ‘The Simpsons’ already had a chapter inspired by this project, but it was an adaptation of the film Metal Souls (Westworld), while this year he will drink from the HBO series, which is quite different.
What is “Death Note” about?
The popular anime centers on the story of a Japanese teenager, Light Yagami, who finds a black notebook with the title of Death Note.
