Warner Bros. enters the Metaverse by offering a version of The Lord of the Rings on NFT – Broadcast (Warner Bros)
Warner Bros. wants to take advantage of thisThe Lord of the Rings’ is back in fashion thanks to the series ‘The Rings of Power’, which aired on HBO Max, and which has now announced the launch of a series of by NFT from the original Peter Jackson trilogy. Warner has signed an agreement with Eluvio, a company specializing in blockchain, to create an NFT of “The Fellowship of the Ring” in its extended version.
This “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” NFT will feature exclusive material such as photo galleries, behind the scenes and augmented reality collectibles. This content can be accessed via an interactive menu modeled after scenes from the film, such as the Shire, Rivendell or Mines of Moria.

If all of this additional material has been available in the DVD or Blu-ray versions of the trilogy for years, Warner Bros. plans to take them into the new era of the metaverse and enter the recent NFT market. The idea of the company is to sell them in limited edition in two variants: Mysterious Edition Y Epic Editioneach with different characteristics and prices.

The release of the NFT of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is the first step for the Warner Bros. company to create the WB Movieverse, an online store that claims to include other degrees from the study. According to the vice president of Warner Bros. Jessica Schellthis new metaverse will allow users to buy, sell or trade NFTs of their favorite movies.
Warner’s commitment is to offer users a different experience than we were used to in terms of audiovisual consumption. Unlike physical versions on Blu-ray or DVD, NFT poses a much more interactive experience and allows the studio to sell branded merchandise that offers the user greater interactivity within the digital world.

The film can be viewed on any digital device. Warner Bros. will publish this edition of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring on NFT from 21 October 2022.
Likewise, prices vary depending on the editions offered by Warner Bros. and Eluvio. On the one hand, 999 copies of the so-called Epic Edition will be available, at a price of 100 dollars each, approximately 1992 Mexican pesos, and 10,000 copies of the Mystery Edition, at 30 dollars each, approximately 597 Mexican pesos.
