‘Dahmer’: eBay bans the sale of serial killer costumes for Halloween

One month ago, serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, who died in 1996, seemed to be resurrected for the whole world, reaching a level of fame he hadn’t even had in life. The cause was Ryan Murphy’s new series for Netflix, “DAHMER-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”, in which Evan Peters plays the nicknamed “Milwaukee Cannibal” and commits his bloody crimes. Since then the controversy has not stopped and, for example, the relatives of the victims have protested because no one has warned them or asked for permission to tell and dramatize their stories. But not all stores allow it – this October 31st may be full of costumed Dahmers, but eBay is against it. The company has banned all objects related to the figure of Jeffrey Dahmer and is currently removing them from its page, a spokesperson confirmed to BuzzFeed.

The online product sales page refers to the company’s policy, which prohibits suppliers from listing items that “promote or glorify violence” or associated with violent individualsthe acts for which they have gained notoriety or crime scenes over the past 100 years, which frames Jeffrey Dahmer perfectly, who said the lives of 17 mostly black men and boys between 1978 and 1991.
