Fans got to see the first season of She Hulk: Lawyer in its entirety, and while reviews have been mixed throughout the season, fans have been quite happy with the unexpected ending. It was a lot of fun and it was interesting to hear what people thought was going to happen versus what actually happened.
One of the theories circulating among fans was that we could see the return of Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns, aka The Leader of The Incredible Hulk (2008). Series director, Jessica Gaorevealed earlier this week that he was considering joining Edward Norton’s Bruce Banner / Hulk at one point, so that made sense. But Gao is now confirming that villain The Leader was actually part of his original speech to Marvel.
He recently explained to ComicBook:
“In my original speech, I had The Leader in there. Only as an option, as a suggestion, you know? But really, I can’t remember why. [it was scrapped]. I don’t remember if it was organically eliminated, because we just invented other things, or if we were told no. I honestly don’t remember. But it was thought of bringing him back or doing a version of a new version of Leader, or some relationship with him. But, I mean really, this happened three years ago and the show has evolved so much that I don’t remember what really happened. “
For fans who were disappointed because it didn’t work, never fear. Nelson will return as The Leader in Captain America: New World Orderwhich will be released in theaters in 2024. It will be nice to see the mad scientist take on Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson / Captain America.
