AMC + has released the first trailer of its new ‘Mayfair Witches’ series, the production that will base its plot on the homonymous series of novels by Anne Rice. The trailer is now available in its original version with Spanish subtitles and the series will arrive exclusively in Spain on the AMC + channel in 2023.

“The Mayfair Witches” arrives as the second series of Anne Rice’s Immortal Universea new conglomerate of dark fantasy and television adaptations that started recently with the US premiere of the series “Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire”.

The new AMC + series is based on Rice’s bestselling trilogy “Mayfair Witches” and features eight episodes for its first season. The plot revolves around a young neurosurgeon who one day discovers that he is the heir to a family of witches. The neurosurgeon will face a presence that has haunted his family for generations as he learns to manage and control his new witch powers.

‘Mayfair Witches’ is played by Alexandra Daddario, who will play the neurosurgeon witch, and who shares the screen with Jack Huston, Tongayi Chirisa and Harry Hamlin. Additionally, this series is executive produced by Oscar and Emmy winner Mark Johnson, best known for his work on famous series such as “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul”. The series is directed by Michael Uppendahl and Jeff Freilich, along with writer Michelle Ashford and showrunner Esta Spalding.

Anne Rice’s first series of the Immortal Universe is ‘Interview with the Vampire, by Anne Rice’, based on the novels of the same title and which was released this year, although it has not yet arrived in Spain. The series has already been renewed for a second season and is making headlines for treating Louis and Lestat’s story from an overtly queer perspective, plus it seems to be going very well with fans of gothic fantasy. According to Time ‘Interview with the Vampire’ it is “the best reboot of a fantasy saga this season”and on the Rotten Tomatoes website it has a 99% critical and 72% public rating, which shows that it is quite popular.
