The bomb is confirmed, Harrison Ford signs for Marvel and will be part of ‘Thunderbolts’ as General Thaddeus Ross. The star of ‘Indiana Jones’, ‘Blade Runner’ or ‘Star Wars’ will make his debut for the first time in his career in the world of superheroes. He will replace the late William Hurt, who had previously played the character in other films in the franchise. such as “Black Widow”, “Captain America: Civil War” or “The Incredible Hulk”.

Just a few days ago, we echoed rumors placing Ford in that role. Journalist Jeff Sneider first reported that the 80-year-old actor would be the top candidate to replace Hurt. although the announcement of his signing would have been blocked by Lucasfilm so as not to overshadow the promotion of “Indiana Jones 5”. Furthermore, he added that the agreement between the two sides could have been broken after the aforementioned blockade and that he could not guarantee that it would continue. Well, Slashfilm has now confirmed the information, ensuring that the protagonist of “The Fugitive” will officially join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ford’s signing could perfectly be considered Kevin Feige’s biggest addition since rising to his current position as head of Marvel Studios. The actor will debut in his new role in the upcoming film ‘Captain America: New World Order’, to continue in ‘Thunderbolts’. However, due to his advanced age, we don’t really know what to expect and how long Ford’s stay at the MCU will last.

When will the film hit theaters?

During the last San Diego Comic-Con, we learned about it “Thunderbolts” will officially close Phase 5. Based on traditional comics, the film will also star Florence Pugh, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sebastian Stan, David Harbor, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen and Olga Kurylenko.
