If you are a big fan of LAIKA movies like me, there is an event you won’t want to miss. On October 15 at 5 p.m. PT, Scener will host a worldwide viewing party of Paranorman with writer and director Chris Butler join fans and share live commentary for the first 30 minutes of the movie and answer questions in the live text chat.
Following the screening, five emerging directors JP and Beyond, ACM Official, Blake Ridder, InCamera and Film It Yourself will present their unique take on the stop motion classic. The best part? All of this is free. Fans can register from time to time they just need to download the Google Chrome Scener extension or their mobile app. The doors will open at 4:45 am to make sure everything runs smoothly before the virtual screening begins.
I say this every year, but Paranorman it’s one of my favorite movies ever. I look at it every year in October and despite how many times I’ve seen it, I’m still amazed. If you’ve never seen it before or think all stop motion animations look alike Tim Burtonstyle, you need to check out this movie.
