One of the most shocking things to happen in the hit Netflix series Stranger things was the disappearance of the hero Bob, played by the fan-favorite actor Sean Astin. She played Will’s mom’s sweet boyfriend Joyce (Winona Ryder), and spent the season in contact with Will during a difficult time in his life. She went with her friends to Hawkins Lab to rescue Will and escape from the Demodogs, but was able to complete the first only after restoring power to the building. He finished strong, making his mark as a hero in the Stranger things tradition.
But apparently, Stranger things creators, the Duffer brothers, revealed that Bob’s death was almost a lot darker. In a recent post from the Stranger things the authors of the Twitter account said:
Crazy shit that almost happened # 1:
In the second season, a possessed Will would kill Bob.– strangers writers (@strangerwriters) October 5, 2022
Whoa! This is hardcore, and I’m glad they didn’t go that route simply because Will doesn’t need any more emotional baggage. That poor boy is messed up enough. It would have been so sad to put Bob’s death on his shoulders too. I hate that Bob had to die, but they did it right. He always wanted to be a hero and he sure did.
