The curious thing is that the character played by the Mexican is called Kukulkan, the god of the feathered serpent. A Mayan deity with a rich history, which isn’t the first time it’s mentioned by Marvel.

Kukulkan had already appeared on the pages of Marvel Comics’ X-Men.

And now in “Black Panther 2” there is the existence of Kukulcán or Kꞌukꞌulkaan, the feathered serpent of the Maya, equivalent to Quetzalcoatl of the Aztecs.

For the Maya culture, one of the main deities was Kukulcán; For some researchers this god is Quetzalcoatl himself and his name means “Feathered Serpent”. For the Maya, Kukulcán was the creator god, and he was also the one who was required to rain and winds, which is why his main temple was built in Chichen Itzá.

However, it’s not the first time Marvel mentions said god in its universe. Kukulkan debuted on the pages of the comics in question X-Men 23, in October 1996. Within this story, Kukulkan is also described as the Mayan god and is also known as Ahau, who has been worshiped for more than 12 millennia.

In addition to this, he is described as having amazing powers including immunity against disease, immortality, superhuman strength, which allow him to effortlessly lift large amounts of weight, as well as the ability to fly and have energy to his disposition as God. from heaven.
