Marvel reportedly wanted to announce Harrison Ford as General “Thunderbolt” Ross at D23 Expo, but Kathleen Kennedy said no.

During Marvel Studios’ grand presentation at D23 Expo, they officially announced that cast Lightning movies and, apparently, Harrison Ford it had to be included in that announcement. He was reportedly cast for the role of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross and will replace the late William woundedwho previously played the character.

So why wasn’t Ford included in the cast lineup at the event? According to The anklet insider Jeff Sneider, president of Lucasfilm Catherine Kennedy he put his foot on the ground and said no. He wanted the announcement to divert attention Indiana Jones 5.

Sneider revealed it The warm microphone podcast, calling the reformulated Ford a “done deal” and said, “They actually wanted to announce him as a cast member Lightning to D23. But they didn’t do it because Kathy Kennedy put her foot down and said, ‘No, we’ll keep the focus on Indiana Jones 5.‘”

Kathleen Kennedy sure can be a party girl. Fans would have overturned a moment like the one at D23 and Kennedy deprived them of that experience. I don’t see anything wrong with the promotion Indiana Jones 5 and let Marvel announce its casting for the role of General “Thunderbolt” Ross. It’s a shame that Disney gave in to Kennedy’s will.

Oh good! the Lightning team consists of Sebastian Stan as a Winter Soldier, Julie Louis-Dreyfus as Countess Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as an agent of the United States, Hannah John-Kamen as a ghost, Olga Kurylenko like Taskmaster and of course Florence Pugh like Yelena Belova, and Davide Porto as the Red Guardian.

The film is directed by Jake Schreier, and I love the fact that Harrison Ford will play General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross!

Lightning will premiere on July 26, 2023.
