Actor Kevin Bacon (Loose, mystical river) has signed up to join Eddie Murphy in the sequel The Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley this is directed to Netflix. Production of the sequel is underway with Marco Molloy directed from a screenplay by Will Beall. Murphy returns as Axel Foley and will produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films. Bacon joins Joseph Gordon-Levitt And Taylor Paigeas well as the returning stars judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul ReiserAnd Bronson Pinchotwho are reprising their characters from previous installments.
The franchise moved from Paramount to Netflix in the winter of 2019 and follows the adventures of Detroit cop Foley, who first appeared in the 1984 blockbuster that followed him to Beverly Hills to solve a friend’s murder. The film became one of the biggest hits of the year and cemented Murphy’s movie star status. It was followed by two sequels, in 1987 and 1994.
This cast is fantastic and it looks like this is going to be a fun new sequel in the The Beverly Hills cop franchising. Can’t wait to check it out?
