I just recently found out something about it Star Wars actors Antonio Daniele And Kenny Baker that I have never known before. It turns out that these two actors who played the adorable droid characters from C-3PO and R2-D2 hated each other. I’m sure some of you were already aware of this, but for some reason, this is something I have never heard of until recently.
A friend of mine pointed this out to me, so I searched the internet and ended up finding details about their story. It’s so strange to me that these two actors didn’t get along! It hurts my soul to learn the details of how they can’t stand each other.
According to Ms. Mojothe tension between Baker and Daniels began at the very beginning of their working relationship Star Wars: a new hope. Baker accused Daniels of being “the rudest man he has ever met”; Daniels on the other hand insulted Baker for not being a good performer, saying, “R2-D2’s character might as well be a bucket.”
The two have worked together on this iconic franchise multiple times over the years, and it’s weird to think they’ve been fighting the whole time. Speaking of Daniels, Baker told Hollywood.com:
“Anthony doesn’t mix at all, he keeps to himself. He never wants to have a drink with any of us. Once when I greeted him, he just turned his back on me and said, ‘Can’t you see I’m having a conversation?’ I was burning with anger.
“It was the rudest thing anyone ever did to me. I was furious. It was unbelievable. “
Baker went on to explain that his communication with Daniels was also hampered by the hours they spent getting ready in their droid costumes. She said: “When Anthony is wearing his costume I don’t see him. I get up five minutes before filming begins and they let me into the R2-D2 shell. You cannot speak once you are inside.
Baker added: “He had 30 minutes to go out at the end and for that moment I’m away. We never meet socially, we don’t live anywhere near each other “.
So, now I can’t help but think that when C-3PO kicks R2 on Tatooine, Daniels is behind that robot mask with a big smile on his face enjoying the moment.
As for Daniels, after Baker’s death in 2016, him tweeted: “Sad to hear of Kenny’s death. 1 of the truly original cast, so famous for his iconic role as R2. He will always be remembered by many fans “.
Apparently, many fans at the time believed the tweet was a crafty way to refer to their feud as it only mentioned the sadness of the fans, rather than any mention of being a friend or showing any emotion from Daniels. I do not know!
All I know is that I hate the fact that these two hate each other in real life.
