It took more than a decade before “La Huérfana” had a second part, which works as a good origin prequel for this iconic character from the horror movieand the new version fulfills its mission with an equally surprising story that reaches the climax of the first part that debuted in 2009.

The first part of this new film works so that the viewer can understand the pace of the film, where Isabelle Fuhrman becomes an orphan again even though she was no longer a 12 year old girl like she used to be, and you can quickly understand webcam games that make her look like a girl again.

Unfortunately it is obvious that the protagonist is not a girl, however it is not necessary to pretend that she is since it is a prequel and the audience knows perfectly well that it is a grown woman, so the game where Esther looks like an innocent girl in some scenes, and a sinister killer in others, works quite well.

In the first episode it was necessary for the protagonist to look like a girl throughout the film because this is the twist of the story and one of the reasons why it has become one of the most famous films in cinema, but in this prequel things work out the way they are. different and the truth is that this is very well applied and also justified, giving an even more sinister touch to the plot and role of Isabelle Fuhrman.

‘La Huérfana 2’ once again surprises the audience with an epic twist

Although the first part of ‘The orphan’it works as a basic, zero-original suspense film, there is a moment when the story changes completely, just like in the 2009 film, and it causes the thrill of seeing the orphan’s return to the cinema, drawing a smile on the face of fans of unexpected turns.

While the talented Vera Farmiga from “The Conjuring” played a major role in the first film, this second one receives Giulia Stiles playing a sinister mother who steals viewers’ attention and gives the plot a dark twist, just as she did years ago in the “Dexter” series with actor Michael C. Hall.

Many times the sequels are a failure because they are not necessary and sometimes they are forced to reach the big screen. The orphan: the origin’has what it takes to function as an independent film from the first part, although it’s inevitable not to compare them, but the interesting thing is that they both end up successfully complementing each other with a cliched ending that details Isabelle’s talent. Fuhrman.
