
HBO Max has released a trailer for DC’s Batman: The Audio Adventures Season 2 with the actor Jeffrey Wright once again in the role of Batman. Speaking of this audio series, Wright said:
“It’s edgy, but it also has comic elements – it’s somehow very noir and old school. What attracted me to this, what sets it apart, is that it’s a radio show. I’m winking at the old radio shows … I love the weirdness and the melodrama you can bring to us. We build on that … It’s a pretty dense series. There’s a lot in there, ”
In season 2 of Batman: The Audio Adventures, Gotham City’s cauldron of crime and corruption is about to overflow. While Joker is still on the loose, criminal bosses and former rivals The Penguin and Two-Face have joined forces and the mysterious narco-terrorist known as Scarecrow remains unidentified, even as his chemical nightmares plague the city. The schism between Batman and Catwoman escalates as they both escalate their separate wars against crime, threatening dire consequences for both. And Harleen Quinzel (aka Harley Quinn) lives for a love that is slowly killing her, just waiting for inspiration to strike.
The series was created by Dennis McNicholas (Live Saturday night) and the ensemble cast includes Ike Barinholtz as Two-Face; Rosario Dawson as Catwoman; Gillian Jacobs as Harley Quinn; Bobby Moynihan how The Penguin and Bat-Acaro; Giovanni Leguizamo like The Riddler; Seth Meyers as Jack Ryder; Brooke Shields as Vicki Vale; Brent Spiner like The Joker; Kenan Thompson as Commissioner Gordon; Alan Tudyk like Alfredo; Melissa Villaseñor like Robin; Bradley Whitford as a Scarecrow; And Chris Parnell as a narrator.
Batman: The Audio Adventures Season 2 will consist of 10 episodes and will premiere in its entirety exclusively on HBO Max on Friday, October 7.
In addition to the podcast series, there is a new one Batman: The Audio Adventures Comic miniseries in seven issues due out this fall. Written by McNicholas, the comics feature drawings by Antonio Marchesi And J. Bonewith cover by Dave Johnson and two variants of cover: one of Michael Allred, a second by Marques and J. Bone. Issue 1 will be out on September 27th.
In the new miniseries, “a series of attacks have plagued Gotham’s squalid underbelly, causing criminals to panic. But it’s not Batman who hits the heart of the city: it’s a group of mysterious assailants looking for an ancient artifact. As Batman hunts down the assassins, he finds clues that continue to lure him to their true target: King Scimitar’s sword.
