This was the first of ‘Don’t worry dear’: From the spit? from Harry Styles to Chris Pine in early reviews

‘Don’t worry, dear’ was the most commented film of the last day of the Venice Film Festival. Olivia Wilde’s film landed at the Biennale amid controversy over the alleged friction between the director and the protagonist, Florence Pugh, who was absent from the press conference. Wilde responded to rumors of behind-the-scenes problems by saying this “it is not necessary to contribute” to gossip and that if Pugh was not with them it was because he had not been able to leave the filming of “Dune 2”, but he would have attended the first hours later.

We didn’t have to wait long to see Pugh take over Venice. because shortly after they began to publish photos of the actress walking through the streets of the city with a spectacular purple outfit. Prelude to the spectacular black dress with rhinestones with which she walked on the red carpet, this time accompanying Olivia Wilde, Chris Pine, Harry Styles, Gemma Chan, Nick Kroll and Sydney Chandler. She had no problem grabbing all the flashes and attention of her co-stars.

But the “Don’t worry, dear” premiere had even more soap operas to open. Once with everyone sitting in the process of starting the screening, Harry Styles was recorded approaching in his place as Chris Pine stops clapping, stares at the ground and sighs as if resigned. The Internet caught fire with a huge voice: Had Harry Styles spat between Chris Pine’s legs? Fans of the singer and actor defend him by zooming in to show that nothing comes out of his mouth, while the rest is enjoying just the umpteenth sauce of the film.

Finally, “Don’t worry, my dear” was shown to the audience and guests, and ended up receiving a four-minute ovation, not overly impressive (Colin Farrell’s The Banshees of Inisherin received thirteen minutes of applause). But it was just about time for Harry Styles to go viral by planting a kiss on Nick Kroll’s mouth during the standing ovation.

The first reviews are quite lukewarm

Critics have begun to publish their reviews and Olivia Wilde has not garnered the unanimous praise she has garnered with her debut film, “Super Nerds”. At the time of writing, “Don’t Worry, Darling” only has 45% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes with an average of 5.6 out of 10. They say it is “a high-level and unsatisfactory psychological thriller”that does not satisfy the mysteries it poses and that, in the end, “does not invent anything” in the genre. The staging and Florence Pugh, yes, they dazzled.

“Don’t worry, dear” will debut in Spanish cinemas September 23.
