Among the most recent Netflix releases is a tremendous, dramatic and huge film about human decisions that can sometimes be devastating to those who share their lives with us. ‘Adult Love’ is the Danish film that managed to wow the streaming giant’s audience as soon as it was released.
In its recent streaming preview, “Adult Love” ranked in Netflix’s prestigious Top 10, the already known ranking of the most viewed films and series on its platform which is regular, but not exclusively, keeps the titles added a few days ago in contention. This production that everyone is talking about, this Saturday 3 September, has positioned itself as one of the most viewed only under ‘Romance in Verona’.
‘Adult Love’ is a Danish film which has not gone unnoticed on Netflix, its plot runs between drama, mystery and suspense, although many of us may, due to the title, expect a romantic film with a complicated story that, in the end, offers us a happy ending for the or the couples involved in the script.
Not all that moves couples is love
The plot of this film offers the story of Christian and Leonora, a daily marriage with a teenage son. Even though it all sounded like love and great family anecdotes, there is something we all know in real life, and it is: appearances always deceive even the most skilled.
The official synopsis offers: “The fine line between love and hate becomes deadly when a woman discovers her husband’s relationship and both take extreme measures to get what they want.”
The son of Christian and Leonora suffered a serious phase of illness, fortunately he managed to come out well and bring more happiness to his loved ones. Suddenly things start to change a lot, her mother changes her attitude and adopts obsessive ways that lead her to the limit and ends up keeping her husband with her at all costs, while he agrees to maintain the reputation of the family.
As the plot progresses, “Adult Love” manages to show the toxic side that couples sometimes develop and which in many cases leads to infidelity.
Leonora discovers her husband with a woman younger than her, terrified that he is unfaithful to her with a supposedly successful woman. But if she is convinced of something, it is that she does not want to lose it and changes her attitude so that she does not move away from her and everything ends in a mysterious and tragic way that must be discovered until the end.
‘Adult Love’ lasts two hours, in a film by Barbara Topsøe-Rothenborg, which brings together a great cast led by Dar Salim, Sonja Richter, Sus Wilkins, Mikael Birkkjær, Katinka Peterson, Lars Ranthe, Milo Campanale, Iris Mealor Olsen, Morten Burin, Salomon Stampe and Susanne Storm.
