Trailer and poster for Paramount + Coming of Age Rap Drama ON THE COME UP

A trailer and poster have been released for the Paramount + coming-of-age rap drama, Arriving. The film is the protagonist Jamila C. Grayas well as Mike Epps, Man method, Lil Yachty, Rhapsody, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Gata, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Tito Makin Jr& Michael Anthony Cooper Jr.. The film is directed by the actress Sanaa Lathan in his directorial debut. The screenplay is written by Kay Oyegunadapted from YA’s best-selling book of the same name written by Angy Thomaswho also wrote The hate you give.

Here is the synopsis:

Bri (Jamila C. Gray), a young black girl, attempts to storm the battle rap scene to do good for the legacy of her father, a rapper whose career has been cut short by gang violence, and to help her family out of poverty. But when her first hit song goes viral for all the wrong reasons, she finds herself torn between the authenticity that has taken her this far and the fake gangsta role the industry wants to impose on her.
