The Brace Yourself Games team recently announced a new game called Rift of the NecroDancer. This is a spin-off for their popular game Crypt of the NecroDancer and is tagged on Steam as a rhythm game, a 2D fighter, and an action RPG. This should certainly be interesting. From the screenshot we see, it looks more like a mobile game, but we’ll have to see what the gameplay really is like before making a call. I want to note that Brace Yourself Games is working with Tic Toc Games to develop the title.
The NecroDancer is back in a brand new spin-off of a rhythm game! Help Cadence navigate the modern world as you repair the cracks that have torn her life apart. Beat rhythmically in rift modes, mini-games and boss battles! All to the rhythm of a brand new soundtrack by Danny Baranowsky and his friends.
First, I love art for Rift of the NecroDancer so i will probably buy it. Everything looks so damn clean it’s gorgeous! We currently know three different game modes for the game as follows:
-
Rift Mode – A rhythmic battle against streams of monsters escaping the Rift!
-
Minigame Mode: Help Cadence overcome the challenges of the modern world with rhythmic minigames!
-
Boss Battles Mode: Defeat powerful bosses using one punch-two, to the beat of the beat!
Combine those with a new soundtrack from Danny Baranowsky and contributors, mod support, online leaderboards and more, and I think you have a recipe for success. Unfortunately, we don’t have a release window or date, but you can head over to Steam now to put it on your wish list.
