In general, it is popular movie-based video games that make a product, but when it’s the other way around, things haven’t gone very well and a reputation has built up that interactive art adaptations aren’t very good. However, the next ones on the list, in the end, weren’t as bad as they remembered them.
Mortal combat
While the effects will continue to be one of its weakest points, the film adaptation of ‘Mortal combat’of 1995 was a worthy interpretation of the fighting. The story is of the slightest importance, and neither in video games, but in everything else, did a great job of entertaining and even left an iconic soundtrack. Available on HBO Max.
silent Hill
It’s hard when what you want to adapt is one of the most acclaimed stories in the video game world, however, the film adaptation of ‘silent Hill’, at least the first part, wasn’t that bad, especially considering the source material. The monsters, the terror and the setting have been kept, and now it’s completely fun. Available on Netflix.
resident Evil
Fans of the Capcom horror saga might say that the “Resident Evil” adaptations don’t do the franchise justice, but at least as far as the first part is concerned, it stands out. Directed by Paul WS Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich, the 2022 film may be one of the best to date. Available on Amazon Prime Video.
destiny
Let’s face it, the “Doom” franchise was never all about having a good story, it was about seeing monsters torn apart by a sawed-off shotgun. At least in this, the adaptation of “Doom” delivers results and, with Dwayne Johnson, Rosamund Pike and Karl Urban, a totally popcorn film is made. Amazon Prime Video available.
Detective Pikachu
Almost on the same line as above, ‘Detective Pikachu’ painted to be one of the worst video game movies, based on Nintendo’s “Pokémon” franchise. It didn’t turn out that way, and it did so well at the box office that it even grossed enough to get the chance for a sequel. Available on HBO Max.
Sicario
Ultimately, the “Hitman” franchise is everything it could have been if “John Wick” were a video game, and while it wasn’t great, the video game-based movie has some very spectacular action sections that make it really fun. , but it could have been so much better.
