New trailer and poster for the Showtime AMERICAN GIGOLO sequel series starring Jon Bernthal

A second trailer has been released for the Showtime sequel series American gigolohero Jon Bernthal (The walking dead, The Punisher). The series is also the protagonist Rosie O’Donnell, Wayne Brady, Gretchen Mol, Gabriel La Belle, Lizzie Brocheré, Leland Orser, Alex FernandezAnd Marco Mahoney. The series was created by Ray Donovan writer / director / executive producer David Hollander.

The show is a sequel story to the 1980 film of the same name written and directed by Paul Schrader, and starring Richard Gere as Julian Kaye, which is the role Bernthal has taken on. It is produced by Jon Bernthal, as well as Hollander, Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and KristieAnne Reed.

The synopsis reads:

Julian Kaye (Jon Bernthal), 15 years after being arrested for murder and struggling to find his place in the modern Los Angeles sex industry, seeks the truth about the frame that sent him to prison so many years ago and also hopes to reconnect with his one true love, Michelle (Gretchen Mol).

It looks like a pretty cool real cop style series, and Bernthal is a fantastic actor. Can’t wait to check it out. Check out the trailer and poster below and watch American gigolo when it debuts on Showtime on September 9th.
