Not long ago it was announced that Diablo Cody (Juno, Jennifer’s body) was writing a new horror comedy, titled Lisa Frankenstein, for Focus functions. Some new cast members for that movie have been announced and include Carla Gugino (The Hunt for Hill House, Gerald’s game), Liza Soberano (Alone together), Joe Chrest (Stranger things), And Henry Eikenberry (The crowded room).
The film will be directed by Zelda Williams and the new cast members will act alongside those previously announced Catherine Newton (Capricious) And Cole Sprouse (Riverdale).
Set in 1989, Lisa Frankenstein follows “an unpopular high school student (Newton) who accidentally revives a handsome Victorian corpse (Sprouse) during a thunderstorm and starts rebuilding it into the man of his dreams, using the broken tanning bed in his garage.”
Chrest will play Lisa’s father Dale, but details of the others’ roles have not been revealed. The film is now in production in New Orleans.
This is supposed to be a fun movie! I’ve always liked Gugino’s work, so he definitely brings some influence into the film.
