
A new cover has been released from the upcoming issue of Disney’s D23 Magazine which features our favorite Salem witches from the long-awaited sequel, Hocus Pocus 2, this is headed our way this fall. Almost three decades later Hocus Pocus was released in 1993, the Sanderson sisters are returning – Bette Midler like Winifred; Sarah Jessica Parker like Sara, and Kathy Najimy like Maria. They are joined by Doug Jones who is also returning from the first movie to play Billy Butcherson.
Newcomers to the franchise include Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belis Escobedo, Hanna Waddingham, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Nina KitchenAnd Taylor Paige Henderson.
The film is directed by Anne Fletcher (Take a step forward, 27 Dresses, The proposal, The journey of guilt, ChaseAnd dumpling) with a screenplay written by Jen D’Angelo (Workaholics, Young Rock).
Here is the synopsis:
“This Halloween season, some legends never die …” It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th century Sanderson sisters, and they are seeking revenge. Now it’s up to three high school students to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before the dawn of All Hallow’s Eve.
