Search for patches is an upcoming roguelike-Metroidvania merger with a hint of monster catcher. The game is developed by the Lychee Game Labs team and has been published by Curve Games and has just gotten a release window.
The game has been in development for about 7 years and it seems like a lot of care has been taken. In the game you will play a person who uses his lasso to tame monsters around the earth. You can mount and ride all the monsters in the game which is great and each has special abilities that you will increase as you progress.
The game features labyrinthine regions that fuel the metroidvania side of things, but features random enemies for Roguelikes fans.
The game is a delightful yet punishing and beautifully crafted hybrid of game genres that will blow your mind with its fast-paced gameplay and keep you coming back for more. Capture monsters and expand your monster collection to make your way through an intricate patchwork maze. Earn exploration gadgets as you play to unlock additional mechanics, collect over 100 plants, unlock gates, open shortcuts and unravel the mystery of Patchlantis.
Search for patches looks great fun and will be leaving Steam Early Access on PC this October with a console release scheduled for 2023. You can watch the video below to learn more about the game.
