Kevin Smith recently spoke out against the shelves of Warner Bros. DC Bad girl film during the last episode of his Hollywood Babble-On. Many fans have been surprised by the news and are wondering what it means for some of the other upcoming movies like The flashand other DC projects. Speaking of Batgirl, Smith said:
“It’s an incredibly bad thing to cancel the Latina movie ‘Batgirl’. I don’t give a fuck if the movie was fucking dog shit – I guarantee you it wasn’t. The two directors [Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi] whoever directed that movie did a couple of episodes of ‘Ms. Marvel, “and it was a fucking wonderful show and they had more money to do” Batgirl “than an episode of” Ms. Wonder and things like that.
WB spent $ 90 million on Batgirl, but the studio’s new bosses discarded it because they said it wasn’t blockbuster movie material. But another driving force behind the decision was the cancellation of taxes. The only way Warner Bros. can cancel the movie is if it doesn’t come out under any circumstances.
Now, there are also reports that claimed Bad girl the rehearsal screenings were a disaster and that the film was “irremediable”, but Smith struggles to believe it, saying he doubts the film is “fucking dog shit”. Use The CW show as an example:
“I love all the CW shows, but the CW shows show their budget constraints. They said “Batgirl” seemed too cheap because it was a $ 90 million movie. How do you make a $ 90 million budget film? If it sounded slightly better than an episode of “Arrow”, then why couldn’t we see it? “
He then goes on to explain how confused he is that Bad girl is not released, but The flashwho has major problems with his lead actor Ezra Milleris still being released:
“This is the disconcerting thing. I don’t give a fuck how bad the ‘Batgirl’ movie is, no one in that movie is complicated or has anything in their real life that you need to market. In the movie “The Flash”, we all know there is a big problem! Flash is the Reverse-Flash in real life “.
