Chris Rockthe beloved autobiographical family comedy series of 2005, Everyone hates Chrisis reinvented as an animated series titled Everyone still hates Chris. This was a fun series to watch when it aired many years ago, I enjoyed it and it’s pretty cool to know it will continue as an animated series!
The new show has received an order for the series from MTV Entertainment and will arrive on Paramount + and Comedy Central.
Rock will return to narrate the series and executive produce the project, which is inspired by the comedian’s teenage years. The stories will be based on the “experiences of Rock growing up as a skinny nerd in a large working-class family in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn in the late 1980s”.
Sanjay Shah (South Park, Central Park) acts as showrunner and wrote the pilot script for the series. Chris McCarthyPresident / CEO, Paramount Media Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios, said, Chris Rock is one of the most gifted comedians of all time and we are thrilled to partner with him, 3 Arts and CBS Studios to bring this to life and welcome him as the next big hit in our expanding arsenal of iconic adult animations that includes hit series such as South Park and the new Beavis and Butt-Head. “
Giorgio Guance, president and CEO of CBS, added, “A reimagining of this groundbreaking and critically acclaimed series has long been a source of creative discussion in our studio. It’s exciting to join forces with 3 Arts and Chris Rock’s comic genius as he expands his vision of the original show in this innovative new format. This also marks another significant internal collaboration for CBS with Chris McCarthy and our esteemed partners at MTV Entertainment Studios as we jointly support this flagship series for Paramount + and Comedy Central. “
It will be great! What do you think of Rock’s Everyone hates Chris continue as an animated series?
