Warner Bros. has shelved the $ 90 million film BATGIRL and has no plans to release it

A new report from The Wrap states that Warner Bros. Discovery has no plans to release DC Entertainment Bad girl movie. The film was originally developed for HBO Max and then it was reported that it could be released in theaters. Well now he’s not getting either of them.

The film was directed by Adil El Arbi And Bill Falla and stars Leslie Grace like Barbara Gordon, Michael Keaton like Batman, Brendan Fraser like the bad guy, JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, e Jacob Scipio.

It cost the studio $ 90 million to make the film, and will they set it aside? Was the movie really that bad !? Apparently so! The report explains:

The studio’s leaders ultimately decided, despite filming and the budget increase, that the film simply wasn’t working, according to insiders. The new owners and management, led by CEO David Zaslav, are committed to making big cinematic events for DC titles, and “Batgirl” isn’t that. Insiders added that the studio head loves the film’s directors and stars and is actively planning to work with them soon.

It’s pretty crazy that the studio is just launching a $ 90 million movie! If the studio is so unhappy with the film and how it came out, why would they want to continue working with the directors who were involved in it? I don’t know, maybe they blame the old school regime?

After all, the movie was designed specifically for an HBO Max movie. I guess there’s a chance WB still has plans for a Bad girl movies, but they could start from scratch and, next time, maybe they’ll give the filmmakers an adequate budget to work with to give them the kind of Batgirl movie they want. I’m just speculating. What do you think?
