Several new actors have been cast for HBO’s animated prequel series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai. Newcomers include Sandra Ah (Grey’s Anatomy, Kill Eve), Randall Park (Always be my maybe, Wanda Vision), Giorgio Takei (Star Trek the original series), and Bowen Yang (Live Saturday night), as well as original Gremlin Movie star Zach Galliganwho played Billy Peltzer in the movies.

Speaking to panel attendees from the show at San Diego Comic-Con, Galligan said:

“I can’t say much, but since it’s China in the 1920s, I don’t play Billy because he wasn’t there. So I play this fantastic character. It has been really fun and great to work with a new group of creative people who are taking a fresh look at the franchise and expanding the mythology, who knows what they will add. Maybe they’ll add a new transformation or a new rule that we don’t know yet … I think Gremlins fans will eat it. “

The new lineup of actors joins the stars of the cast previously Ming-Na Wen, Giacomo Hong, BD WongAnd Izaac Wang.

In the series, “Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai returns to 1920s Shanghai to reveal the story of how 10-year-old Sam Wing (future store owner Mr. Wing in the 1984 film) met young Mogwai named Gizmo. Together with a teenage street thief named Elle, Sam and Gizmo embark on a journey through the Chinese countryside, encountering, and sometimes battling, colorful monsters and spirits of Chinese folklore. In their quest to return Gizmo to his family and uncover a legendary treasure, they are pursued by a power-hungry industrialist and his growing army of evil Gremlins.
