Chaosium is ready to release them Call of classic Cthulhu at their booth at GenCon and online exclusively at Chaosium on August 4th. After a hugely successful kickstarter and some dark rituals, these first edition box sets contain 5 of the original supplements that went out of print in the early 1980s. With some modifications, however, all of these materials can be used with the current edition of Call of Cthulhu. There will be a Classic 1 box and a Classic Deluxe 2 box, both in limited quantities, so get yours while supplies last. Here’s what you can expect in the boxes:
-
The fundamental rules
-
The classic Call of Cthulhu rulebook is written specifically for people with little experience in role-playing games. This main book explains all the characteristics of the Investigator, including Sanity, the consequences and the loss of Sanity required when encountering scary creatures: the alien intelligences of the Cthulhu Myths. Also included are rules for the magical system and spells for Myths, as well as scenarios and appendices with useful additional materials. This special 40th anniversary edition also includes Keith Herber’s 8-page “Wail of the Witch” scenario.

The 1920s book of sources

A complete guide on setting up the Call of Cthulhu feature campaign. The book is overflowing with material a Keeper needs for role-playing in the 1920s. It contains information on the cost of goods, travel distances and times, historical background and an expanded weapon list. world map in poster format

Investigator sheets and character silhouettes

a set of 40th anniversary ruby colored dice

They look really cool and I would love to read what the scenarios in the game will look like.
